Chicago…

Also known as the ICE & SNOW town. Winter has officially arrived here. We were hit on Saturday with an Ice, Sleet and Snow storm. The day started out with snow (we were in awe), then it went to ice and then back to snow again. I have never seen anything so messy or crazy. By Sunday, things dried up and we were back to normal (just simply cold). However, yesterday was the first big “snow storm” of the year for Chicago and Mother Nature dumped about 6 inches on us with more to come over the next few days. Because this is all new to me, I have to say that it really is beautiful, and it makes everything feel very cozy. At the same time, I am struggling with the cold and the fact that I all know to do when there is even a threat of snow is stock up on bread and milk and look for school closing (although we really don’t ever have days like this in the south…nonetheless we still shut down EVERYTHING), but nothing stops in Chicago for the snow. I hope that made sense. Anyway, I knew that this winter weather was eventually going to come, and despite the fact that I don’t have any idea how to drive in it (stay off the roads if you see me coming), it is just another part of my ADVENTURE. I will keep you updated.
