I’m just a little “ole fashioned”…

Maybe it’s that I REALLY love sleeping or maybe it’s that my own bed is so warm and cozy, but two of my favorite things about coming home after being gone for a while are sleeping in my OWN bed and getting the mail.  YES, getting the mail.  I realize that we are in the middle of the technology revolution and most people don’t even care about “SNAIL MAIL” anymore, but I DO!!!

You see, there’s just something about the feel of paper and ink that gets me every time.  It means that someone took the time to put pen to paper and share a part of themselves with me.

Over the years, I have had so many clients reach out to me with the most amazing notes, cards and letters.  I’m not going to lie, these things inspire me.  They encourage me to be a better photographer, a better person and to do everything that I can to make a difference in life.

The thing about life is that it is full of the most unexpected moments, but most of the unexpected moments turn out to be the most beautiful moments.  It doesn’t matter whether they are captured with my camera or with your pen and paper.  The unexpected is beautiful.  I love hearing from you and I love even more that you provide me with the ability to find beauty in the most unexpected and simple things in life.

Here is a thoughtful POEM that a client recently wrote for me,  and that I recieved in the “SNAIL MAIL” when I got back in town on Monday:

 Extraordinary Artist

From the first moment, it was obvious

This was no ordinary photo shoot

Complexities turned to simplicity

Like a miracle in front of our eyes

No one was spared the hypnotizing dance

As each subject fell prey to artist will,

Proven by the sideshows between the takes.

Seduction never felt like so much fun.

Giving more than she demanded of us,

This artistic photographer worked fast,

Praising spontaneity, whispering

Ideas implemented without thinking.

Extraordinary artist defined:

One who has mastered tools of trade so well

They seem to disappear into thin air

As the artist’s creations come to life.

Thanks for allowing me to be a little “ole fashioned”, thanks for taking the time to put pen to paper, and thanks for helping me to understand that it’s the little things that are the most important in life.

ENJOY!!!
