Why?!?!?…

It’s just a simple question.  As a matter of fact, it is so simple that as a toddler, it can be annoying to those around you, as a teenager, it’s a time to inform, and as an adult, when we are suppose to know and have experienced most everything, it’s usually a direct question from our mouths to God’s ears.

Yesterday, we got news that our dear friend, Iris Prosch, has been diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme stage 4.  To be perfectly honest, I spent most of last night asking “WHY”…NOT NOW…she has 4 wonderful young adult children, and she is just beginning to see the results of her mothering labor.  One daughter has set and is achieving life goals that you and I can’t even imagine.  Another is carrying her first child and Iris’ first grandchild. Her youngest daughter is studying abroad, and her son is a talented football player with such a bright future, who just began his college career last fall.  As quickly as I started the “WHYS”, I stopped myself and thought about Iris.  You see…she is one of the strongest, kindest and most Godly women that you will ever meet.  I knew that she wasn’t sitting around asking “WHY”, but that she was asking God to use her and this cancer to glorify him and most importantly, she was asking that God’s will be done through all of this.  You know how I know this to be true….not because I heard Iris say it, but because it is how she lives her life daily, and I heard her children parrot it.  Aren’t a mother’s children always a true testament to her words and her heart.  We love you Iris, Julia, Amy, Loren and Jay.

If you feel led to pray for this family, please pray specifically:

1. Pray for healing.
2. Pray for peace and comfort throughout Iris’ chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
3. Pray for the Doctor to have wisdom in providing the most effective treatment for her particular case.
4. Pray that God would be glorified throughout it all.

Life really isn’t about squeezing hours.  It’s about seizing moments.

Hard times for sure. But He will be glorified, and already is! Thank you for sharing this. It brought tears to my eyes.

One of my great honors is to go before the Father on anyone’s behalf. Thank you for sharing this so we can help lift this family in prayer…and lift Iris’ arms up as she goes through this battle.
