Kids, regardless of their age, have a way of transforming our lives in the most incredible way. Even at 20 years old, this one has a way of making me look at the world in a different way every single day. He makes me stop and appreciate the spontaneity in life. As much of a planner as I tend to be sometimes the most enjoyable moments are simply unplanned, and they always seem to leave me with a memory that won’t soon be forgotten.
If you too are a photographer/mom then you will completely understand one of the moments that I experienced this weekend. I have been asking for well over a year for this amazing styled session at the most incredible location and I kept hearing “not now, MOM”, however, this weekend, after one more attempt while driving by this cool old truck on our way to a friend’s cabin, all of a sudden a miracle happened and my child said the magic words that every photographer/mom longs to hear…“YOU HAVE TWO MINUTES”. Yes, only two minutes, but I can work miracles in two minutes. So I took my two minutes and made the most of them, but even more importantly, I all of a sudden came to realize that even if ALL of the perfects weren’t there…two minutes were two minutes more than I’d had before, and yes, “I WILL GLADLY TAKE IT”, and remember this day not for the perfect lighting, styling or location, but for the simple spontaneous moment that it was…Happy Monday!
ENJOY!!!
