Cody…

I consider myself very lucky to call this old farmhouse, “home”, and yes, I am tickled that it comes with such a rich history.  Having been handed down from one generation to the next, it is full of so much love and so many wonderful memories. Being the sentimentalists that I am, I do love meeting the people and hearing the real life stories behind each and every one of those memories.

A week ago, I had the opportunity to photograph a handsome young man whose family called this sweet little spot home for 10 years.  Yep, some things just seem to fall into place or are destined to be, as I believe, and for whatever reason Cody’s mom put off his senior pictures last summer and low and behold we met on a chance meeting and with tears in her eyes she told me that she had raised her babies in this house and would LOVE to have Cody’s senior pictures shot in the backyard where he grew up and learned to throw the football.  Little did I know, the evening would be full of fun and meaningful stories, but we shared so much and had an absolute ball together.  These simple stories just excite me, and give me a great hunger for the rich history of this tiny little space that I now call HOME.

Cody, you are such a special young man and even though I haven’t read the article yet…I KNOW, without a doubt, that you are a real “game changer”.

 ENJOY!!!
