Tully Mars…

Lately, I’ve been doing a whole lot of visiting…spending time with the people or in the places that helped shape who I am, in my home state of Georgia.   It may be one of my favorite things about moving back HOME.

This past Saturday I took some time to visit and drive through my childhood hometown…something about that particular visit gave me a healthy dose of nostalgia that was powerfully energizing and yet calming at the same time.

Angie is a dear childhood friend that I haven’t seen in at least 15 years.  Like so many of my old and new friends we reconnected on fb and as soon as I learned that she was a talented artist I knew that I wanted to commission her and add a piece of her art to my farmhouse collection.   You all know all about my collection and how I want everything in this house to have a story to tell and a history all its own.  Well this piece will definitely have a story and Saturday night we added to the story and all that you need to know is that I laughed SO hard that the tears almost ran down my leg.  No, that isn’t very lady like, but it is true…I took LOL to a whole new level.

Nothing puts butterflies in my belly like photographing your 4-legged children, but that was Angie’s one request and I must admit that even I LOVE seeing the relationship between these two.  Angie made it clear that she wasn’t suppose to be a part of the photo-shoot, but you know that I wasn’t about to miss out on an opportunity like this…

 ENJOY!!!

Angie wanted a shot of Tully with her dad…yes, this brings tears to my eyes and I hope it’s an image that she will always treasure.
