Somehow we have slowly moved from a uniquely quite and mild winter here in Atlanta right into summer 2012…I don’t know about all of you, but mine is full of graduations, weddings, baseball and vacations. Having said all of that, at the very TOP of my list is taking time to step back and savor my home, neighbors, family and friends.
With the kind of neighbors that I was lucky enough to land with this move, I’m guessing that it’s safe to say that spending time with them will be the highlight of my summer. Mr. Bobby was born and raised in this house and Mrs. Martha has more wisdom and gentle kindness than I can manage to soak up in a single summer. Their love for each other and this house make every minute that I spend with them extraordinary and has a way of helping me to remember to focus on the real balance of life.
As time continues its determination to pass, I never want to miss an opportunity to sit and listen to the life stories that these two are so willing to share. Let’s be honest, without their stories and the life that was created within these old walls my house would never ever have a chance of being a REAL home.
