TC and the gang…

August is a month full of celebrations around here and we haven’t missed one minute of the good times.  It’s also supposed to be full of the warmest weather of the year, but in keeping with the trend in 2012 this month has felt more like fall than most Septembers ever do.  The nights have been full of cool air and good heavy rains…the ultimate perfect sleeping conditions, at-least in my book.  I must admit that I have a tendency to long for salty skin and sundresses, but there are already visions of football, warm sweaters and boots running through my head.

This past weekend, I mixed a little business with pleasure and headed across the way to spend a few hours with my neighbors.  I just relished in their many tells and tried to soak up every story that they shared about their approach to farming land and animals – their very simple style of farming is to let chickens be chickens, deer be deer (YES, they have pet deer) and ohhh the cows…you know how much I adore the cows and of course they just let the cows do whatever it is that they do best!

It could be stated that I’ve played favorites amongst the farm animals and have publicly declared my fascination with the cows….SOOOO this post is dedicated to TC, Daisy, Hiccup, and all of the other animals that make up this amazing farm.   I have to be honest…I joke about being a farm girl in training , but REALLY it’s not a joke at all…I am taking significant baby steps everyday, but this weekend I found myself feeling like everything around me was so brand new and it took me a minute to just breath in ALL of the life that was there.   With every step I took I tried to remember the smell of the deep green pastures and the tiny features on the sweet faces of all of God’s creatures both big and small.   It won’t be an experience that I will soon forget and the one thing that was clearly apparent was that all of these creatures benefit by working together and yes, they stole my heart.

Indeed, it is a simple life, but boy oh boy, it’s a GOOD life.

 ENJOY!!!
