A UConn Graduate…

When he was younger, life was ALWAYS wide open and most days, by the end of the day, I was completely worn out and not sure how I was going to make it through to the next one.  There were many days that I would think to myself that this was going to get easier when he got OLDER; however, today I sit here much wiser and realizing that THOSE were the “easy” days or better yet the “good old” days.  As cliche as it is, the oh so wise me tells all of my clients to be thankful that they make the time to capture these moments and memories because these days are gone in a quick blink of the eye.  And yes, you’re going to miss this, you’re going to miss the terrible twos, the days that you find yourself still  in yoga pants at 7:00pm because there just weren’t enough hours in the day for you to find the shower, the constant in and out of the car on the way to this practice or that lesson or the current social event of the week …you’re going to miss the 6th grade science project that suddenly becomes a family project because although you have known about it for a week, it’s all of the sudden due first thing tomorrow morning…the making of lunches and most of all the daily cycle of laundry that includes some of smelliest uniforms that you would rather burn than bring inside your house…these are the events that cause both tears and laughter and when it’s all said and done, they are the day to day events that make up our children’s lives and memories.

Life moves by and the milestones and accomplishments that somehow seem so far off in the distance all of the sudden are over and you find yourself quietly listening to God for the next step in your life’s journey.

Today Chandler accomplished another one of those BIG milestones and is a graduate of The University of Connecticut.  And although we find ourselves buried in the what’s nexts, I would never want to miss the “HEY, you just did that” moment because we are so busy wishing these days away for the “easier” days.  Today is one of the “good old days” and Mike and I couldn’t be prouder of the young man that he has become.  Here’s to you little man that has in the quick blink of an eye become a BIG man…may God keep you safely in his grip and ALWAYS guide your path.

ENJOY!!!
