Farmhouse Details…

There is no denying that I am drawn to pieces that show their age.  Something about their worn exteriors and textures allure me into seeing  past, present and future every time.  I’d rather spend hours wandering through antique stores, flea markets and even junkyards looking for these treasures than any amount of time looking for things that are new or mass produced.

Once the old farmhouse was found, it was time to spend months with great friends and family navigating through some of the most unique shops around…we started in Opelika, AL at Resurrect and Angel’s Antiques, from there we traveled north to Queen of Hearts, Alpharetta, GA and City Antiques, Roswell, GA and everywhere in between including Scotts Antique Market, The Vintage Flea, Newnan, GA, Rockin B, Newnan, GA, Stairway to Heaven, Newnan, GA, Ms. Wendy’s, Senoia, GA, Born Again Antiques, Hogansville, GA and this weekend we are traveling for a visit to Madison/Monroe…if you aren’t an antique junky, you are missing some good times, great finds and memories with some of the neatest people you will ever meet.

I know I promised pictures of the house and I will get those up soon (probably once the beautiful blooms begin to bloom), but here are just a few of the details that make me smile.  Yep, I am drawn to  anything that show the effects of time, weathered to silver gray, bleached to blonde or tarnished…I just can’t help myself and I am always interested in hearing the story behind all of the distress that their exteriors show.

What can I say…Patina makes me giddy…

ENJOY!!!

I am printing one of these very large and can’t decide if I like vertical or horizontal…let me know which  you like BEST!

So Long 2011…

Where has 2011 gone?!?!?

This year has FLOWN by, but there can be no denying that it will take with it many, many great moments and memories made.  It will, no doubt, be remembered as the most satisfying in so many ways.  Beginning with a move to Kansas for Chandler, followed by my trip to Ecuador, and the wonderful opportunity to travel to many cities across the US meeting and spending time LOVING photography with so many of you, however, all of that can not be out done by a final move back HOME in October.

Like most of you, I have goals and aspirations for 2012 that will go unnamed so that I don’t fall short on my New Year’s Resolutions, but most importantly I look forward to the exciting new adventures that 2012 will bring, and enjoying so much of them with all of you.

I read this this morning and just had to share it because it is SO very true:

We manage time; we waste time. We spend time; we save time. We wish the time would come; we wish the time would pass. We see time fly; we feel time drag. We watch clocks and carry calendars, creating the illusion that we somehow control time, yet all the while moments flow forward like a mighty river that cannot be stopped, harnessed, or re-routed.

Time is such a wonderful gift.  I can’t even imagine what the next 365 days have in store, but I know for sure that I am up for the challenge.

Happy New Year to you all!

ENJOY!!!

Brady…

I recently had the incredible opportunity to spend an afternoon at the ranch of my dear friends, Stacey and Christie, and their sweet son, Brady.  It’s the kind of place that is filled with warmth, love and laughter.  There’s just something magical about their home that makes you well aware that wonderful memories are certainly made there on a daily basis.  Here are just a couple of my favorites of Brady from the afternoon…yep…he is this charming in real life too…Merry Christmas, my sweet friends.

ENJOY!!!

Jim .&. Rebecca…

We’re busy decking the halls around here, but I had to share this loving series between this sweet couple.  Yes, they are the most attract people in the whole wide world, and I LOVED how they reacted when I asked him to give her some “sugah”.  And no, there was no mistletoe anywhere around…just simple, fun loving folks!

ENJOY!!!

The Girls…

Well, YES, I’m still alive.

I was just taking a little mini-vacay.

The kind where I move to Atlanta in the middle of crazy, busy holiday season and dive into major renovation projects.  You know the mode…hard working folks are in my house every single day, and I just can’t pull myself away from watching the transformation.

I promise to share everything really soon, but in the mean time…I just can’t get enough of these two, and their sweet little piggy toes…I love the LOVE, the Light, the Laughter and the itty bitty piggies…Happy December, and FRIDAY..whoop-whoop.

ENJOY!!!
