Georiga Professional Photographers Competition….Oh What A Year!!!

Mike and I decided at the last minutes (like most years) to enter 6 albums this year in the GPPA Annual Competition. Each of these albums were judged by judges against other professional photographers from all over the state of Georgia. Four of the entries were entered under the multi maker category (2 photographers), and we each entered an album in the individual photographer category. We were thrilled to find out that each of our entries received “First Place”. In addition, we received the Kodak Photographic Excellence Award and my entry (Kristy and Jeremy) received The Fuji Masterpiece Award and Best Of Show. As I tell each of you all of the time, you guys really do make me look good. It is a privilege to have professional judges, and your peers recognize your work. Thank you to all of my loyal clients, and a special thanks to Mike for allowing me to always be creative!!! I really am blessed to do what I love everyday.
Let’s start at the beginning. A year ago this Sunday (the 7th), I had the privilege of photographing the wedding of Kristy and Jeremy. I already knew them from my son’s football family, but getting to share with them in their amazing love story was by far one of the highlights of my career. Not only are they a gorgeous couple, but they love and appreciate creative, unique photography. It doesn’t hurt that the camera absolutely loves them. These are good people, who come from good families and getting to know them and their families meant a lot to me. They are now expecting their first child, and I look forward to capturing this time in their life in the same unique manner as we did their wedding. Thank you GPPA for recognizing the value in this photography with the FUJI MASTERPIECE AWARD AND THE 2007 BEST OF SHOW!!! What an honor for all of us.

You all know who this is. We spent a year documenting the life of “Sophie” from pregnancy all the way to her first birthday. Her parents were smart enough to capture each of these session in a “Sophie’s First Year In Pictures” album. It is filled with amazing photography from each session and custom designed just for them. A treasure that I know they will cherish for generations to come. Because we spent so much time with this family over the last year, I have grown to love them and consider them very dear and close friends. They are now expecting their second child, and I look forward to continuing to capture special milestones for them in their life. Much love to you guys…you really are the best.
Brent and Tracy were the most relaxed and in love couple. Their wedding was at a great little church in the North Georgia Mountains and the reception was a a fabulous winery overlooking these mountains. They allowed us the freedom to be totally creative and spent the afternoon (rain, shine and all) touring the great downtown square of Dahlonega. With wedding party tagging along, we had an incredible afternoon with this couple. A wedding that I won’t soon forget.
Romantically Southern is how I would describe this wedding. Amanda was absolutely beautiful and exuded true southern charm. The setting was a beautiful Victorian home, “Victoria Belle”, and I think that exemplifies the whole atmosphere of this amazing wedding.
Okay…so this wedding was at the end of 2006, but it still was an amazing Christmas wedding at the Ritz Carlton at Lake Oconee. Bryan and Allison are one of the classiest couples that I have ever worked with, and everything about their wedding day was elegant and said “First Class”. In addition, I had the privilege of shooting Allison’s twin sister’s wedding in April of this year and really enjoyed meeting and getting to know their parents. Thank you both…I hope to see you soon.
