A soaking rain hit Downers Grove Friday night, as the Mustangs’ season and playoff hopes came to a shocking end. As so many of the young men walked off the field, our hearts were heavy knowing that this may be the last game they every play. Hanging up your cleats is never easy, but they each have experienced numerous victories and defeats on this field which has shaped them all into the remarkable young men that they are today, and helped to prepare them for the different paths that they will take as they begin the next phase of their lives. A special “Thanks” to the coaches and players of the Downers Grove South Mustangs for showing us all the true meaning of team from the beginning of the season until the very end. What a season it was! We will always remember it and you fondly.
