John .&. Liz…

These really are two of the sweetest people that I have ever met. They are the kind of people that just laugh all of the time and being around them makes you feel so alive. They are very young, but wise beyond their years.

Their wedding was schedule for 2 days after Christmas in Chicago (yay…a REAL snowy Midwest wedding). We were scheduled to so some amazing stuff at a park outside in the snow together and I couldn’t wait for their big day. We had so much fun at their engagement session downtown that I knew we were going to have a BLAST at their wedding. WELL…hold that thought because I (the photographer) got stranded in Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. That’s right in Atlanta…not Chicago. Most of you know our nightmare story about trying to come home the day after Christmas and spending the whole day at the airport only to be told at 8:00 pm after boarding two flights and taxing on the runway for 1/2 hour that all flights to Chicago were CANCELLED and we wouldn’t be able to get out until SUNDAY??? What???? How can I shoot their wedding from Atlanta. Oh yeah…and there are no rental cars available at the airport that we can rent from ANY company. It really was the most unbelievable thing that I have ever experienced.

Mean time back in Chicago, Liz and John were having their rehearsal dinner with lots of friends and family and not a care in the world (just the way I wanted it). The photographers that were shooting with me both agreed to step up to the plate for me and cover this wedding without me there. I couldn’t be more indebted than I am to both Katie and LeeAnn for putting me at ease and letting me know that without a doubt everything would go off without a hitch. THANK YOU just isn’t enough. Oh and Liz was solid as a rock when I talked to her that night and told her that we had everything covered and that I would do everything in my power to get there if I could.

Well we landed at 3:00 pm on Saturday (ceremony time), and I got my luggage at midnight…i.e. no shower and no make up and a whole day at HJI airport the day before. Not a pretty site for a wedding.

As I mentioned, I loved this couple before their wedding and love them more now for only caring that Saturday came and went and even though it was the warmest day in Chicago all month with no snow they just wanted to be married to each other. I REALLY DO HAVE THE BEST CLIENTS!!!
