California…

Even though I am currently calling Chicago home and my heart will always be in Atlanta, there is no doubt that I could quickly find a way to lay my head on the pillow each night in California. Something, or everything, about it just keeps drawing me back there. I just love all of God’s beauty that surrounds you everywhere you turn. Everything from the majestic mountains to the lush landscape just seems to make “my soul sing”. The pristine blue of both the ocean and the sky is unlike anything that I have ever seen before. I really tried to soak it all in every morning while practicing yoga to the sounds of the waves in the ocean beating against the sand because I knew that it was just a matter of time before the chilly temperatures and snowy season would be making their way back to the Midwest.

The people in California are so warm and just seem to exude the happiness of all of the beauty that surrounds them every single day. They are all seem to be so accepting and non judgemental and everyone seems to just quietly go about their business with HUGE smiles on their faces. We have made some great friends out there over the last couple of years and always enjoy spending time with them. This year they were kind enough to have us over for a wonderful cook out in their resort style backyard…ahhh paradise. I REALLY didn’t want to leave.

Oh yeah and one really BIG plus for those of you that know me is that there is no humidity (i.e. GOOD hair days every single day…very important)! Even though the state itself seems to be in a ton of financial trouble, there is just something that I love about the quite sound of the ocean at night when you are just starting to fall off to sleep. It just seems to take all of your worries away.

Here are just a few shots that I quickly captured during our trip! There are more to come of Chandler and of course of the Elite 11 soon. Enjoy!!!!

The shoes of a California Kid…Totally Rad!!!

I am not sure who this sweet little boy is, but I just happen to be walking by when he decided to “pose” for this little sequence. What perfect timing. He didn’t even know I was there.
