DGS vs. Bolingbrook…

After heavy rain on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday last week, the “Hit Hard Gang” agreed to head to No. 5 Bolingbrook on Friday night for what was originally scheduled as their 2009 season home opener. On a perfect Fall night in Bolingbrook’s top notch facilities, the team went to work on the third game of what has proven to be one of the best rivalries in Chicagoloand in recent history. The last two games in 2007 and 2008 have ended with a split of victories between the two teams and only by a small margin of points difference. Friday night’s game did NOT disappoint.

The first half was nothing short of a defensive battle. The Mustangs’ defense kept the team in the game by battling and holding a very physical Raiders’ offense. Way to rock it guys and give your team a chance for victory.

After only 12 offensive plays in the first half, the offense came to life in the second half and were able to put 14 points on the board. The Raiders answered with a blocked field goal late in the 4th quarter and that was just enough to get them the victory of 16 to 14 on another game that was well worth the price of admission.

In order to be the best, you have to play with the best and this coming Saturday the Stangs will head to play another of Chicago’s top rated teams in No. 8 Glenbard West. This should prove to be another tough battle, and will actually be televised on Comcast later that afternoon. WOW…football season is BACK!!! Hit Hard!!!
