DGS vs Glenbard North Playoffs…

What a run the Stangs had in 2009. Saturday night was no exception to the heart and soul that this team has shown all year long. I am a firm believer that on any given night a game with Glenbard North could go either way. It was a defensive battle between two very strong teams. A heartbreaking score of 7 to 3 was all it took for them to claim victory and move onto the semifinals this weekend. You were right there boys, and there is nothing to hang your heads about. Way to fight until the bitter end. Thank you for allowing all of us to witness this in all of you.

This is a very rewarding but sad post to be writing. We could not be prouder of the DGS Mustangs for a fantastic 2009 Season. Of course, we would have all liked to be playing this weekend, but making it to the quarterfinals is a real accomplishment, and beating Bolingbrook on their home turf in the most important of the four games we have played them, is the highlight of our season.

– Three straight undefeated Conference Champion Seasons
– Elite 8 Participants
– Won the Rebel Cannon Game, Again!
– Beat DG North, Again!
– Hold the point total over Bolingbrook 65-62 over four games, 2-2, with the playoff win

Be Proud!

Congratulations to all of the Seniors!!! Thanks for the memories and your commitment to the DGS Football Program. What a fantastic group of players, coaches, parents, and boosters. None of this would have been possible with out all of you! Good luck to you all as you move on to the next chapter of your lives.

Now from the Whitmers – This is an extremely emotional time for us with this being the last high school football game to go up on this blog! We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each and everyone of you at DGS, and we are very appreciative of how you welcomed us into your family three years ago. We will miss Friday nights, but of course we will be around cheering for The Hit Hard Gang. As for our son, Chandler, we wish you all the best on your journey at the University of Illinois.

Thank you for allowing us to become a lifelong member of the DGS family!!

Mike, Tricia, and Chandler
