My personal challenge this year was to participate in a year long photo project, but I ABSOLUTELY know myself well enough to know that there was no way that I would have the discipline needed to complete the 365 Project. So when my friend, Sandi, put together the Project 52 weekly challenge, I was SO excited. That is much more doable for me and I will post my weekly assignments here every once in a while so that you guys can help hold me accountable.
This past week the assignment was to do a black and white photo of something that “defines” you. YIKES…I have to admit that I REALLY had a hard time coming up with a unique idea. Okay…maybe I cheated a little bit and posted a SOS on my facebook page to get your help. Thank you all so much for your kind words, and even more impressive is that I totally have creative friends. You guys inspire me every day. I’m a LUCKY girl for sure.
Anyway, I couldn’t come up with just one thing that defines me. I am such a complex person, and I thought about doing a picture of an onion just to show all of the layers that would represent my complexity, but I wasn’t sure that everyone would GET IT and they might think that I am a total NUT (I should have thought of that too)!!! So I took the simple, feminine, collage route instead. Yes, it was a black and white picture that I submitted, but for some reason when I shot this I LOVED these shots in color.
This week we have to shoot a TOTAL stranger. I hope there are some strangers hanging out in the 12 degree temperatures in the slush and the muck because I am a girl on a mission.
ENJOY!!!
