Ethereal Farms…

It’s taken us 2 and ½ years to finally give a name to this place that we call home.  Maybe it’s because we had to spend some extra time getting to know the area, the people and especially the animals before we could make such a big decision.  What I do know and have known for a while is that living here has hugely impacted my photography and my life in a way that I could have never imagined.

You guys have been so kind and really encouraging as I slowly found myself drawn to and inspired by the simple things that have surrounded me all of my life, but I’ve never really taken the time to get up close and personal, or slowed down long enough to notice.

After collaboration with one of my neighbors, who just happens to be an amazing artist, and the kindest women you will ever meet, we have named our home Ethereal Farms.  She just happened to use that word during one of our visits to describe my photography and after looking up the definition:

: in heaven

: resembling heaven

: seeming to belong to another world

: very delicate

I knew instantly that was how we feel about our life on this farm.  Needless to say, I was humbled that she in any way viewed my work in such a manner and although, it isn’t a “typical” farm name, nothing that I seem to do has ever been “typical”.  Why start now?

Thank you Meredith for your encouragement and for lending your artwork to our new logo.  Words can never describe how much we appreciate you and your friendship.

If you know me at all, then you know that my first love always has been and always will be photographing people and their lives and emotions.  That is never ever going to change, but I have grown quite fond of photographing the animals and scenes that surround our day-to-day lives here in farm country.  I am thrilled that you have all taken an interest in it too, and I am happy to let you all know that I am launching a new division of TriciaLee Photography that has been inspired by Ethereal Farms.   It is my hope to offer a special price on canvas prints, postcards, pillows and textiles and maybe one day a coffee table book for you all to have in your own homes.   This comes after much thought, encouragement from so many and a whole bunch of sorting through images that I have really really enjoyed shooting over the last couple of years.

To begin with, I would like to release a few of my most recent images from the major snowstorm here in Atlanta (the first one since we’ve been back in the south), and a Sunday morning fog tour from right here on the farm.

I am super excited to offer canvas wraps that are professionally made.  Each one comes complete with a clean finish and the hanging hardware.  The only thing not included is the “honey” to do the hanging.

Please e-mail me at tricialee@windstream.net with the image and size that you would like.  I will be happy to get these ordered for you ASAP.  AND because February is the month of LOVE, you all know that I am a huge sucker for LOVE and romance, I will be offering a 15% discount on all orders that are place by midnight (EST) on Thursday, February 13th.

We are currently working with a few designers on the best way to transfer the images to fabric for our pillows, etc., but look forward to offering those in the very new future.

Thank you all so so much for your dedication and encouragement.  I know that it is cliché, but I am so very blessed to get up every morning and do what I love to do and what I feel like I was made to do.  I am even more fortunate to share in each of your lives whether you are new friends or old, you make me who I am.

One of my dear friends sent me this after seeing some of my fog pictures on Tuesday morning, and the message couldn’t have been any more clear to me so I thought I would wrap up this incredibly long blog post by sharing.

“How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow?  Your life is like the morning fog-it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.” ~ James 4:14

Our lives are like a mist.  Slow down and enjoy the journey right now!

ENJOY!!!
