CREEKVIEW HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM’S INAUGURAL VARSITY SEASON COMES TO AN END

This group of Freshman and Sophomore baseball players played a 6-AA Varsity season and went 14 and 12 on the year and 7-9 in region play. We parents could not be prouder of them and I know for sure that they will be a team to follow in the years to come. A special thanks to our head coach, Mike Nayman, for believing in this group of young men and pushing them to accomplish all that they could this year. We will miss being a part of this team as they continue to grow, but will certainly follow them on a regular basis from Chicago.

In addition to their record on the field, these guys should be proud of the community involvement that they participated in. One of the highlights was the Saturday morning that they spent with the Challenger Baseball program. I know I saw several adults with tears in their eyes, and with out a doubt the boys were moved by and thoroughly enjoyed this experience. A special thanks to Keith Depew for providing these images. Can you believe that I didn’t even think to take my camera to this. Thanks, Keith.

Check out Maggi’s “pink” glove. She also had flame cleats with pink bottoms and she has 3 older brothers so she came to play and knew what she was doing. I think she stole Chandler’s heart.

Lastly, the guys participated in Relay For Life last Friday night at Sequoyah High School. What a great cause. We have, as I know you all have, lost so many special people to cancer this year. The highlight of the night was when they turned out all the lights in the stadium and had all of us who have been impacted by this disease walk the track as a bagpiper played. This tribute to so many of our family and friends made us all take the time to realize how special life is.

Thanks again guys for a great season. You are the BEST!!!
