The Art of Balance…

How do we find a doable middle ground somewhere between bliss and burnout? Isn’t this the question that we all want the answer to? Funny thing is that if you asked your Granny for the answer to this question, she would probably tell you something along the lines of “When I was your age, no one talked about balance…you just did what you had to do”. Wonder why we do all this talking about BALANCE…Why NOW?

Maybe it has to do with the times we live in, or maybe we just aren’t satisfied unless everything is moving as fast as we want it to.

Everyone is trying to sell us a cure  because we think that we need to find a BALANCE. Unfortuanley, it can’t be bought. It doesn’t come from a yoga class, a massage, the tea room…the minute we walk out the door all the NOISE is back. The constant pushing and pulling in life is what we call stress and the only way to move closer to BALANCE is to accept “what is”.  So if you find yourself STRESSED to the max (as we say), here are a few tips to bring you back to center:

Create habits that empower you
Create an environment that supports you, and if it doesn’t, leave it
Realize you’re not perfect

It has nothing to do with dividing out your “life plate” into perfect measured portions. It doesn’t even matter if you are the richest, the smartest, the prettiest, etc. because you can’t buy it regardless of who you are. It’s a state of mind and it turns out it’s free!

In my business January and February are the two months that I usually have time to focus on the things that I enjoy and bring me pleasure. So as I gear up for March, 1st. Here’s to finding my FREE balance, and ALL of my imperfections.

One of my guilty pleasures is reading mindless books that I never seem to have time to do, and if you haven’t taken the time to read this one yet please add it to your MUST READ list…

Like myself, you may be well aware of Frank Lloyd Wright’s strengths and faults, but little has been published about the women in his life, other than his domineering, smothering mother and his strident, domineering third (and last) wife. This is an amazing story of forbidden love that had me hooked from the start. Honestly, if I get my hands on “a good read” , it doesn’t really matter what else I have to do or where I am because I simply CAN NOT peel my nose out of the pages until I KNOW the ending (oh and it better be one of those HAPPILY EVER AFTER endings).  TRUST ME…do yourself a little balancing act and bury your nose in this one…it won’t disappoint.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

ENJOY!!!
