Summer Dreams (Southern Living style)…

Yesterday I sat on the porch in a state of Summer Olympics exhaustion.  For those of you that know me well, I am one of those girls that goes to bed VERY early most nights, but I am up at the crack of dawn (or when the rooster crows…see below)  ready to make waves and chase dreams every single day.

Gathering inspiration from magazines is one of my favorite past times and so while I was curled up on the font porch swing I started thumbing through my latest edition of Southern Living magazine.  As I started with the Editor’s Welcome, I sat stunned and excited at the same time because I suddenly realized that this issue was made specifically for me.

Each amazing page was full of pictures, articles and ideas that relate to the dreams that are currently running through my mind.

Living on this farm may be starting to get to me.  Without going into too much detail (only because I want you all to grab one of these magazines and share your dreams and ideas with me) here are a few dreams that SCREAMED at me as I absorbed every last page of this magazine:

The charming southern town of Senoia – it can’t be a coincidence that I spoke with someone from the historical society about opening a storefront in this charming small town just earlier this week – DREAM #1

Preserving SUMMER – if you follow this blog at all, you know that our yard has two huge Muscadine vines and it’s DREAM #2 for me to learn how to preserve these yummy fruits this Fall and make some delish jellies and jams.

Dixie Chickens – see I told you that I have been on this farm just a little too long…as a tribute to my NEW farm girl style, I sat down with a contractor last Friday and went over plans for a uber stylish chicken coop…I’m getting all flushed in the cheeks just thinking about this because I’ve never actually had any live farm animals, but I’m also feeling up to the challenge and the thrill of farm fresh eggs…if you are an experienced farmer, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE share your tips with me before I get in over my head…DREAM #3

Roswell’s Best New Eats – you have heard me scream this for weeks, but now even Southern Living magazine knows how fabulous downtown Roswell has become…if you haven’t yet spent an evening dining and roaming the streets and shops of this awesome city, it’s an experience that I highly recommend you put on your social calendar ASAP, and y’all know that my absolute favorite place to camp out is Roswell Provisions.  Again, I have given them props several times on this blog, but let me say it once again…THIS SHOP HAS MAJOR SWAG…you MUST visit…I totally dream of a similar theme for my own storefront in the near future…DREAM #4

The Porch – one of our favorite spots on this farm is the front porch swing…I know that if it could talk it would have so many stories that it could share and I, for one, would love to sit and listen to every single one of them in detail…the article that wraps up this issue pretty much sums up exactly how we feel about our own FRONT PORCH…DREAM#5

Yesterday was the perfect afternoon to just “BE” and enjoy this life and home.

Like most of you, I wake up EARLY everyday with a dream on my heart, and this particular magazine had a special way of putting just a few of my dreams in a nice little volume full of instructions that I can revisit every time I hit a wall.  The way I see it…one can never have too many dreams and I can’t thank you all enough for letting me share mine.  Nothing would make me happier than hearing some of your own dreams and how you fight for them and never let anyone talk you out of them!

ENJOY!!!

Just look at this fancy chicken coop…if you haven’t visited Tiffany’s website…YOU MUST…she is a REAL Rockstar farm girl and when I grown up I totally want to be her!
