Every once in a while you just happen to be at the right place…at the right time… with just enough preparation, and patience to capture a moment that can only be called LUCKY! This shoot was one of those incredibly special times. It literally took an hour and a half to capture this one frame, but hey…one frame is all it takes to provide someone with a treasure that they can cherish for a lifetime…RIGHT?!?!? Listen, I am not going to sugarcoat this one and claim that I am some great photographer, or even some amazing artist and that I was well prepared for this session. The truth is I got flat out, plain and simple, good ole fashion LUCKY. It was one frame people…one LUCKY frame.
I don’t usually share the out takes from any of my sessions, but I don’t think that you can fully appreciate this LUCK unless you see it with your own two eyes. So…here is what 99.9 % of “the portraits/art” looked like from our afternoon together…
BUT, if you know me well or have ever been to one of my sessions, you have heard me say (at least a million times) “I’m getting this shot…I’m NOT leaving here until I do”…this time I thought I might have to eat every single one of those words, but I GOT THE .01% shot and behold…here it is!
I’ve heard that luck is simply preparation meeting opportunity…maybe that’s what happened here, but I am not now, nor have I ever been too proud to admit that I GOT LUCKY!
