JEANINE & LUKE

This wedding was absolutely AMAZING. To be honest, I wasn’t real sure how we were going to pull it off. It was an outdoor wedding with over 200 guest and a small indoor venue for a backup. On my way to the wedding, I was driving in the worst storm that I have ever been in and thinking to myself “this is going to be the day that I find out what I am really made of”. When I arrived, the wedding coordinator said “the ceremony will be outdoors no matter what and by the way the power down there has already gone out”. So my assistant, Sarah, and I start lugging equipment in the pouring rain and lightning. The whole time we were laughing to ourselves about how people think that wedding photography is such a glamorous job.

Well let me just say that this is a “glamorous” job and I couldn’t have been more blessed than to be a part of this wedding. The clouds parted just as we began to take pictures and it was an incredibly perfect evening as the sunset shows. Not only that, but this couple was the most relaxed and in love couple. Never did I see Jeanine sweat or complain about the rain, and Luke was so in love with Jeanine that I don’t even think he noticed the weather. Thank you guys for allowing me to share in this glorious day and for reminding me that your wedding really was about the two of you and not everything that was going on around you. We had such a blast and can’t wait for you to see your photos.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!

What a job. It think this has to be the hardest and most rewarding job there is. Each and everyone one of you are my hero. Here is a small tribute to each of you. Thanks for letting me capture these special moments between you and your children. I know that it is always hard for us, as mothers, to get in front of the camera, but what a great gift you are giving your children by sharing yourself with them in images.

“Mothering doesn’t just mean caring for; it also means caring about – recognizing each of our children as unique individuals and cherishing them just as they are.”

I hope each of you has a very special day. Take some time for yourselves. You deserve it.
A special thanks to Mike Moreland for capturing this shot of Chandler and I. As you all know, this is the most important job that I do everyday. Thanks Chandler for making every day Mother’s Day and for allowing me the privilege of calling myself a “Mother”. I Love You.

CREEKVIEW HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM’S INAUGURAL VARSITY SEASON COMES TO AN END

This group of Freshman and Sophomore baseball players played a 6-AA Varsity season and went 14 and 12 on the year and 7-9 in region play. We parents could not be prouder of them and I know for sure that they will be a team to follow in the years to come. A special thanks to our head coach, Mike Nayman, for believing in this group of young men and pushing them to accomplish all that they could this year. We will miss being a part of this team as they continue to grow, but will certainly follow them on a regular basis from Chicago.

In addition to their record on the field, these guys should be proud of the community involvement that they participated in. One of the highlights was the Saturday morning that they spent with the Challenger Baseball program. I know I saw several adults with tears in their eyes, and with out a doubt the boys were moved by and thoroughly enjoyed this experience. A special thanks to Keith Depew for providing these images. Can you believe that I didn’t even think to take my camera to this. Thanks, Keith.

Check out Maggi’s “pink” glove. She also had flame cleats with pink bottoms and she has 3 older brothers so she came to play and knew what she was doing. I think she stole Chandler’s heart.

Lastly, the guys participated in Relay For Life last Friday night at Sequoyah High School. What a great cause. We have, as I know you all have, lost so many special people to cancer this year. The highlight of the night was when they turned out all the lights in the stadium and had all of us who have been impacted by this disease walk the track as a bagpiper played. This tribute to so many of our family and friends made us all take the time to realize how special life is.

Thanks again guys for a great season. You are the BEST!!!

MAY FLOWERS……

I have had so many wonderful shoots in this beautiful field of yellow (which is really a cow pasture), so I couldn’t wait to work with this handsome family out there. We have faced roadblock after roadblock (allergies, bad weather, etc.), but finally we got it in and boy was it AMAZING. The day was absolutely pristine, and the kids couldn’t have been more cooperative. Everything turned out just the way I envisioned it would, expect for the two horses that decided to join us at the very end of the session. Oh well, what can you expect in the beautiful Georgia countryside. You know me. I would have stayed out there all night. Thanks Scott and Beth for sharing your family with me. I hope you will treasure these shots for a lifetime.

NICOLE & SCOTT

I knew from the minute I met this couple that we would have an AWESOME, fun wedding and WE DID!!! Nicole is from Hawaii and had originally wanted a beach wedding, but Scott really wanted to have more family and friends there to witness their vows. Because the weather was so spectacular and the groom and his groomsmen all wore Hawaiian lays, it somehow felt like we were at the beach. We all had a great time and got to escape reality for just a short period. This couple is in Italy for two weeks. I hope you are having the time of your life. It was such an honor being a part of your wedding.
